We are dedicated to writing and illustrating all-inclusive children's books. The first series, Sisterly Love, will be factually  based stories surrounding the love of my two granddaughters.

We also plan to publish a series of cookbooks which will have plant based selections as well as meat based options.

My mission is to surround young children with books that are meaningful to them, that they can relate to and understand. I want my granddaughters and any future grandchildren to participate in the authorship as well. Children want to experience books that have characters that not only look like them and their friends, but have their experiences as well.  Family and community are so important for our young people and most especially for our young black and brown children. We are a multi-racial family and when my children were young, we did not have many of the resources available today, and I want to be sure that any profits I am blessed with that a percentage is slated to help young black and brown children navigate their way through this world.

Having multi-racial children in the late 1980's and early 1990's did not offer a lot in the way of books and toys for my kids. It wasn't until they were too old for such things did the diverse toys come out. The internet did not exist and I did not have the option to search for anything for my daughter that looked like her, specifically for dolls or action figures for my son. The options for very few and far between. And they were not the doctor's or other positive role models you see today. These types of figures still have to be ordered on-line, it is rare to just see them on a store shelf in a shade darker than "tan".  Our black and brown children need to know that they can be anything they want to be and we need all of our children's book authors and illustrator's to start including black and brown characters.
